The temple houses a very important statue of Kyobpa Jigten Sumgon, the founder of the Drikung Kagyu Lineage. It is considered one of the oldest statues of Jigten Sumgon. Since the temple itself is very old, the local people have renovated the building. As it is located on a rock hill, it took eight years to complete the renovation. Accompanied by many Rinpoches and lamas, His Holiness performed the consecration of the renovated temple and the famous statue. The two-day consecration was performed on the basis of the Puja of Chakrasamrava.
