News from Kagyu College

KC011Dear Dharma brothers and sisters,

First of all, on behalf of the management committee of Kagyu College, I would like to convey our prayers and greetings to everyone, and particularly to those who have a special connection with the Kagyu College. As usual, here I would like to share some news from Kagyu College and I hope every one of you will enjoy reading the updates.

KC012This year six students graduated from our College and as per request and aspiration by various Institutions we sent them to different places as below.  Lobpon Kohchok Gyatso, Lobpon Tundup Gyaltsen, and Lobpon Tenzin Nurbu were sent to Jangchubling Monastery. Lobpon Konchok Rangdol and Lobpon Konchok Tenpa were sent to Samtenling Nunnery.  Skorpon Phuntsok Gyaltsen and Lobpon Konchok Zangpo were sent to Rinchenling Monastery in Nepal. We truly hope that they will serve those monasteries and bring benefit to many students.

KC014In cooperation with the Zangpo project, we started a special Tibetan course for beginner students from Vietnam including reading, writing, grammar, etc. Currently, we have six monk students and a lady who stays at our nunnery. They are very happy being here and they are studying well. When they understand and speak the Tibetan language they will attend the same classes as our college monks. We the managing committee of Kagyu College very much give a warm welcome to them and we hope that they can learn a lot from Kagyu College and that they will benefit others in the near future.

As usual, we continued our monthly program at Kagyu College.  On the day of the last full moon, we had a seminar and the topic was on the Gonchig text.

As usual, on the day of the last new moon, we gathered for a big Dharma debate (logical discussion) and challenged each other very much which shows great enthusiasm for our studies. All these events went well and all our Khenpos are happy to learn that their knowledge is improving very much, like the waxing moon.

KC013On the 3rd and 4th of October, 2011 every monk and nun gave a Dharma speech, read poems aloud and performed debates at Kagyu College. The program lasted from 3pm until 11pm for these two days. Many monks and staff members gathered from Drikung Kagyu Institute and its branches. That much for now and I will try to update from time to time.

Last but not least I would like to extend my heartiest prayers and good wishes to all of you.

With lots of prayers and greetings.
Khenpo Rangdol
Principal of Kagyu College
